Marco Lawrence draws New York's Chinatown, the neighbourhood where he spent his first ten years in the city after moving from England, recording its streets and seasons as a personal chronicle of finding home in a new community.

Working digitally, he borrows heavily from film noir's use of lighting to build a cinematic sense of time and atmosphere: graphic, engaging, and atmospheric, marking his shift from commercial screen printing into illustration.
